If you’re new to New Zealand, you will probably hear a few words or expressions that you don’t understand. Like all countries, we have words that are unique to New Zealand and aren’t used commonly or at all in other English-speaking countries. Even native English speakers from other countries find that some of our vocabulary sounds quite foreign. So, if you’re learning English here, be prepared to hear a few words that you can’t find in your translation dictionary!
